BMI Credit CardBMI, also know as British Midland has now teamed up with MBNA, one of the world's biggest issuer of credit cards, to bring out the BMI mastercard.This card lets you earn miles towards free flights all over the world, not only on BMI flights but with other Star Alliance members. Earning Frequent Flyer MilesThis card lets you earn 1.5 destination miles for every £1 you spend on the card. This is more than many entry level cards offer. In addition, you will also receive double miles when you use your card to book flights at flybmi.com.Free flights start at just 12,000 miles for flights within a number of northern European countries. Flights further a field will cost more miles. For example, an economy flight to the US or Canada will take 45,000 frequent flyer miles. Another advantage of this card is that you will not have to pay a booking fee when you use the card to purchase flights at flybmi.com or on BMI's telephone booking line. Interest Rates and FeesBMI are currently offering an introductory interest rate on balance transfers of 1.9% p.a. for the first 9 months of card membership. After these initial 9 months the rate will revert to the standard rate for any remaining balances.The standard interest rate for both purchases and balance transfers is currently a Typical 15.9% APR variable. Cash withdrawals will have a higher interest rate which is currently set at 22.9% p.a. Unusually for frequent flyer credit cards, there is no annual fee for the BMI card. This means that if you pay your bill in full and on time every month it's not costing you anything to save up those miles.
