British Airways Credit Card from American Exress

If you're looking to save up for a free flight with British Airways, you can now save even more quickly with the British Airways credit card from American Express.

Earning Miles

The standard British Airways card comes with an initial bonus of 3,000 miles with your first purchase. You can then continue to earn miles at a rate of 1 mile per £1 spent. However, they are currently offering double miles for the first 3 months of card membership. That's 2 BA miles earned per £1 spent.

With flights starting at just 12,000 miles within the UK and some European countries, you can quickly be on your way to getting those free flights.

There is also another way to earn free flights with this card. If you spend £20,000 in a year you will receive a voucher for a free companion flight when you use your miles to book your flight. This can be a great deal if you save up your miles for a long haul flight.

Interest Rates and Fees

This card isn't currently offering any special introductory interest rates. However, you may find that the standard interest rate is fairly competitive for an airline credit card. There is also no annual fee for this card which can again, be unusual for a credit card offered by an airline.

If you are looking to earn your BA miles even more quickly, take a look at the British Airways Premium Plus card, also offered by American Express.

Credit Sources Review

If you're looking for a credit card to earn you miles towards free flights you might want to take a look at the British Airways card. One of the best things about British Airways is that they are one of the world's biggest airlines and have partnerships with many others. This means that there are numerous routes available for you to redeem your miles to almost anywhere in the world.

Another popular feature about this card is the free companion ticket if you spend £20,000 a year on your card. If you're saving miles for a holiday for you and your partner it can seem like an endless amount of time before you can get 2 flights. However, if you make the minimum annual spend, you only need to save miles for one of you and get another free companion ticket.

The interest rate on this card seems to be reasonably competitive, but you may find lower rates elsewhere if you expect to carry a balance. However, these cards may not feature air miles or rewards. It can also be a nice bonus that this card doesn't require an annual fee.
