Most people like to help out with their favourite charities. However, many struggle to find the time to volunteer or to money to donate directly to the cause.

For those of you looking to do that little bit more to help, you might want to look into charity credit cards.

These kinds of cards work in a similar way to cash back or reward credit cards, but instead of the money going directly to you, it goes to your favourite charity instead.

What is donated?

Almost all charity credit cards will make monthly donations based on the amount of money you spend on your card - the more you use your card, the more money will go to the charity concerned.

Some cards will also make an initial donation when you first get accepted for the card. This is usually in addition to the monthly donations but may not always be.

Interest Rates

You will usually find that interest rates and fees on charity cards are similar to what you would find with a cash back or reward card. They can be slightly higher than some cards but are usually fairly competitive.

You will find that almost all charity credit cards don't have an annual fee so you aren't having to pay for the privilege of just having the card.
